Are you interested in working with gender and equality in your everyday practice? Do you want to challenge social and cultural norms about gender? This workshop will help you develop a reflexive approach to your practical work, and provide you with insight about gender and sex as sociological phenomena.
This dynamic workshop includes two modules:
Module One generates personal reflection and a deeper understanding of the construction of gender.
Module Two examines the practices that can be applied when gender theory and practice are intertwined.
What will you get out of this workshop?
- Develop a critical understanding of gender: its role and manifestation in society
- How to apply gender theory in your everyday practice, including the division between the private and the public spheres
This workshop is for you who:
- are between 18 and 30 years old
- working on gender equality or interested to work on the topic in the future
- would like to broaden your understanding of social constructivism on gender
- want theoretical and practical tools on how to combat gender inequality
- are looking for a self-reflective challenge on gender awareness

About the Trainer
Niki Chalusi is the chairperson of Gothenburg’s organisation (RFSU) of sexual and reproductive health. She trains activists in practical methodology and teaches sex education in schools. On a national level in the organisation RFSU, she is a member of the steering committee counseling the project group on their mission to raise awareness on intersectional topics such as anti-racism, inequality, and feminism. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and is a big fan of Ayishat Akanbi and Alain de Botton.
Guest: Hana Jemli (Tunisia) will participate as a guest speaker about her work in Tunisia and Bulgaria.
