Endangered Cultural Heritage

Illegal excavations and trade of stolen cultural goods has increased significantly in Iraq and Syria. This often follows in the wake of war, as chaos and poverty makes it easier for criminal networks to act.

However, people are working both on site and internationally to protect cultural heritage. Join The Museums of World Culture and other institutions in working together to defend culture!

The project Endangered Cultural Heritage contains conferences, films and other information activities. Organisations behind the project are The Museum of World Culture, The Swedish National Commission for UNESCO, The Swedish National Heritage Board and ICOM Sweden.

#Unite4Heritage is a global movement powered by UNESCO that aims to celebrate and safeguard cultural heritage and diversity around the world. Launched in response to the unprecedented recent attacks on heritage, the campaign calls on everyone to celebrate the places, objects and cultural traditions that make the world such a rich and vibrant place.
