Julie Lejsgaard Christensen från Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek i Köpenhamn presenterar sitt doktorandprojekt Antiquity in the 21st Century – How?
Projektet tittar på hur antiken och Glyptotekets samling skulle kunna uppdateras och presenteras på sätt som är mer relevant för dagens museibesökare.
Projektet kommer att undersöka de narrativ som lyfts i modern forskning och som vanligen inte förmedlas till besökare i utställningar om antiken.
Museets besökare och användare kommer att involveras i att ta fram mer mångfacetterade, relevanta berättelser om antiken.
Projektet kommer även att bidra till att utveckla koncept för engagerande publika program, utifrån ett användarperspektiv. Projektet är en del av Glyptotekets arbete med att visa dess samling på ett helt nytt sätt i framtiden.

Julie Lejsgaard Christensen from Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek will present to us her PhD project Antiquity in the 21st Century – How?.
The project will look at how antiquity and the Glyptotek’s collection of antiquities could be updated and presented in a way that is relevant to today’s museum visitors. The project will investigate the narratives engendered by recent antiquity research that are not traditionally presented to visitors in museums’ antiquity exhibitions. This will be linked to a user perspective.
The museum’s users will be involved in the qualification of more multifaceted, relevant narratives about antiquity. Finally, the project will help develop captivating concepts for public outreach and engagement, also qualified on the basis of a user perspective. The project is part of the Glyptotek’s work on an upcoming, entirely new presentation of its collections of antiquities.
Julie Lejsgaard Christensen is Head of Interpretation at Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen and a PhD student at the Department of History and Classical Studies at Aarhus University.
