Föreläsning: Diversity Competence- Cultures don't meet, people do
'Intercultural communication' has become an important topic to study and practice nowadays. But what is actually the role of culture in today's globalised world? When is communication 'intercultural'? And how to deal with challenges in intercultural situations, like power inequalities and ethical dilemmas?
Världskulturmuseet and Anna Lindh Foundation network in Sweden proudly present the lecture by Arjan Verdooren on his latest book Diversity Competence- Cultures don't meet, people do. Arjan will go into these and other questions, by discussing an alternative approach to intercultural communication. Its starting point is not the meeting of cultures, but the meeting of people in a multicultural world. Arjan Verdooren will present some of the main ideas from the book, followed by Q&A and a short workshop to apply the theories on case situations.
