No feathers without birds

It is not only the beauty of feathers that fascinates people, it is also the bird itself. By wearing feathers, we hope to take on some of the characteristics of birds, such as their speed and sight. Characteristics that are very useful to us humans.

Where do all these feathers come from? Have all the birds been shot down and plucked? Birds are treated with great care in many indigenous cultures, they fly around freely, and only a few feathers are plucked at a time.

The demand for feathers unfortunately meant that some birds are now on the verge of extinction, or worse. One of the birds that luckily has survived is the bird of paradise and the use of its feathers is now band. Regulations have gradually become stricter in recent years, and feathers are replaced with alternative materials.
