About the collections
90 years ago, Swedish archaeologists began to explore Cyprus's oldest history. Between 1927-1931 its members excavated some 20 different places on the island, laying the foundation for a understanding of development of the Stone Age through the Roman empire. In conjunction with the expedition's 90th anniversary in 2017, the museum will highlight the efforts of the Swedish archaeologists in various ways. We will highlight new research and invite audiences to interact with the expedition both on site at the museum and here online.
